A Look at Potencia's Brand Glow-up!

Why the glow-up?

As Potencia evolves its mission, we evolve our brand and look as well. 


I started Potencia as a simple coaching company, which, from a branding perspective, was just about growth. Hence, the plant in the logo is colored green! I love green. Anyway.


Over 3 years, we've learned that our customers come to us wanting major transformation in their lives. Our customers want to live life full out, no regrets, and strive towards their potential. So, our brand had to reflect transformation, aliveness, and striving.

On the butterfly

The butterfly lives in essence of Potencia:  potential turned into power, beauty born from struggle, freedom earned through growth.  Its wings remind us that transformation is natural – and when we embrace it fully, we pollinate the world with possibility.  Potencia exists to help people ignite, evolve, and soar. 

 

In less poetic terms (yes, the above was written by ChatGPT, I'm embarrassed):


Butterflies represent transformation.  We all start as caterpillars, crawling along, slow, clunky, surviving.  We all have a phase of cocooning, where we are protecting ourselves, so we put on armor and a shield.  And we experience those moments of transformation, revealing our own brilliance with our beautiful wings.


Butterflies represent "the journey", and the strength, resilience, and wisdom to get through it.  The Monarch butterfly flies up to 3,000 miles (4,800 km) in the migration between Canada and Mexico.  Scientists still don’t know how butterflies can navigate a migration that spans a continent – but something special is in their DNA that they listen to.  We as humans have to learn from our inner wisdom.


Butterflies represent contribution.  As pollinators, butterflies are an important part of the ecosystem, and in fact, are a bellwether of the ecosystem’s health.  At Potencia, we grow people to have and act on an honorable mission in life.


Butterflies represent freedom.  Butterflies float and fly with ease and flow. They're unbothered and free.

 


What’s with the new colors?

To start, we wanted the colors to exude vibrance, excellence, courage, and a seriousness (wait...serious?!), yes, the seriousness that you only live once. We take ourselves seriously and not seriously at the same time - we love the work we do and are serious about quality at the same time.


The mix-and-match of distinct colors also allows us to play more with the brand - we might calibrate the shades a bit and see what resonates.


What's Next for the Potencia Brand?


We don't know! We continue to refine and evolve, but for now, you might see some different versions of our butterfly. Maybe help us name it? We'd love a mascot name. Anyway, any ideas or feedback are welcome - this is a brand about community.
